DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIGALI-TRANSFER TO THE LODGE

After clearing with immigration our representative will receive you from the airport and you will drive through welcoming Kigali city one of the most effective and clean cities in Africa, you then head to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

DAY 2: DRIVE TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK-EVENING GAME DRIVE

After morning breakfast, you will depart Kigali for Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It’s characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains, and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles on arrival you will check in to your lodge and enjoy an evening game drive in the park.

DAY 3: GAME DRIVE-BOAT CRUISE ON LAKE IHEMA

After early morning breakfast with packed lunch, you will depart the lodge for a game drive, during the game drive you will look out for wildlife like lions, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, giraffes, impalas, and abundant birdlife in the park after you will take a boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will expect to see a lot of wildlife that come to drink water and the water birds and later you will return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

DAY 4: DRIVE FROM AKAGERA TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

This will be slightly longer as you will drive from Akagera national park to Volcanoes national park via Kigali, Volcanoes National Park located North West of the capital Kigali is named after the chain of dormant volcanoes making up the Virunga Massif: Karisimbi – the highest at 4,507m, Bisoke with its verdant Crater Lake, Sabinyo, Gahinga, and Muhavura which supports some of Africa’s top rainforests home to the Endangered Mountain gorillas. The park is home to over 200 species of colorful forest birds and exclusively rare golden monkeys that occupy the bamboo zones of the forest, on arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

DAY 5: GORILLA TREKKING EXPEREINCE-OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

After morning breakfast, you will drive to Volcanoes national park, the park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range – home of the endangered mountain gorilla and a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp, and heath. This is one of the few areas in Africa where you can come face to face with the mountain gorillas, the trek is ranging from 2-6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, usually clients will spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas after locating them and later you will return to the lodge for relaxation or optional activities can be arranged with the guide.

DAY 6: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING-TRANSFER LAKE KIVU

After morning breakfast, you head in to the forest to discover the playful and inquisitive nature of the golden monkey, a beautiful little creature found only in the high-altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park. Spend the morning searching the lush vegetation at the foot of Mount Sabinyo for one of two habituated groups of golden monkeys, one of them a troop of more than 80 members. Spend an enchanted hour watching their frolics as they leap among the slender shoots of bamboo or tumble among the dense foliage on the forest floor.

Active, sprightly little creatures, the golden monkeys are incredibly entertaining as they amuse themselves swinging through the bamboo or racing after one other in circles around and above you. Blending in perfectly with the golden bamboo, they are very pretty, with shiny reddish-gold backs.

DAY 7: BOAT CRUISE ON LAKE KIVU IN KARONGI-TRANSFER NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

After morning breakfast you enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Kivu where you will visit islands, local fishing villages and view the abundant birdlife after return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch and later drive to Nyungwe national park will One of the oldest rainforests in Africa, the park has very rich in biodiversity with 1,068 plant species and 140 orchids, 322 bird species including Red-collared Babbler and 29 other Albertine Rift Endemic species. Butterflies are also a common sight, with at least 120 species, Chimpanzees as well as 12 other species of primate, including the L’Hoest monkey endemic to the Albertine Rift. On arrival you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

DAY 8: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING EXPEREINCE-CANOPY WALK

After morning breakfast, you will drive to Nyungwe forest national park which has the highest population of chimpanzees in Rwanda roughly 400 individuals, Chimpanzee trekking is a major activity done in Nyungwe forest national park. On the actual day of trekking, travelers transfer to Gisekura park headquarters where they attend a simple bring about the trekking rules before embarking on a drive to Cyamudongo park station which is a 2-hour drive from Gisekura park headquarters through the incredible tea farms that give you one of the best views of the forest and you will meet the trackers for a briefing and then head out in to the forest to trek the chimpanzees and on locating the chimpanzees you will send 1 hour with them and later return to the lodge.

DAY 9: VISIT ETHENOGRAPHIC MUSEUM-KING’S PALACE IN NYANZA-TRANSFER TO KIGALI

After morning breakfast, you will depart for Nyungwe, en route you will visit the ethnographic museum Butare is the National Museum, which houses the finest ethnographic collection in East Africa. Seven galleries display historical, ethnographic, artistic, and archaeological artifacts accompanied by visual aids, giving visitors a rich insight into the Rwandan culture. King’s place a reconstruction of the traditional royal residence, the King’s Palace is a beautifully-crafted thatched dwelling shaped like a beehive. In olden times, Nyanza was the heart of Rwanda. According to oral tradition, it was the site of battles and power struggles.

DAY 10: KIGALI CITY TOUR-TRANSFER TO AIRPORT

After morning breakfast you will head to Kigali city where you will start your city tour with a visit to Kigali genocide museum in Gisozi where you will spend 2-3 hours touring this historical museum, after you will drive to kimironko market where you will visit this vibrant market with colorful fresh vegetables and fruits and later you will break for local lunch, after will drive you to inema art center where you will witness some of East Africa’s most beautiful art pieces and later you will end the day with shopping at capulaki and later you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Your guide will transfer you to the airport for your own word Journey.
