Traditionally, most Kenyans will not engage in direct communication, but instead, use non-explicit techniques in passing over their intended message. However, the style of communication depends directly on the level of intimacy between each person.
Bomas of Kenya
Bomas of Kenya is instrumental in the safeguarding of Kenyan cultural heritage and many of the institution’s partners across sectors rely on its guidance, consultation and advocacy efforts.
Established in 1971 by the Government of Kenya to preserve, showcase and promote the rich and diverse cultures of various ethnic groups of Kenya and to act as a tourist attraction centre with the expectation to preserve the authenticity of Kenya’s cultures and to portray them in their pure form.
Daily Masai Markets
if you are looking for affordable, beautiful and colourful souvenirs to take back home with the aim of experiencing the authentic Masai culture then the Maasai Market is the best place to shop. It’s an open-air market with a large variety of products including African pots and pans, clothes, shoes, jewellery, shoes and bags, paintings, drawings, curios, clothes and fabrics with East African prints. Hand-made jewellery and wood carvings are also available.
The most interesting part of this shopping is the bargaining part of it which will bring joy to most travelers as it is not common in Western culture.
