Day and Night game drives in Tarangire National Park

The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many animals from the surrounding areas come to the river for drinking. If you visit the park during the dry season, you will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and with a little luck, you can also spot a python.

Night game drives 

If you’re looking for a more authentic safari experience while in Tarangire National Park then the night game drive will provide this experience as you will have chances to encounter Nocturnal wildlife like porcupines, civet cats, genets, bush babies and you will also stand high chances of spotting lions and leopards as it will be cooler and they will move out of the thickets and start hunts sometimes.

Best time for game drives

Due to high temperatures in Tanzania from June to October, it is more tradition that people go out for an early morning game drive return to camp for lunch and a nap in the heat of the day and head out later in the evening for yet another game drive in the park. However, the best time for adventurous game drives in Tarangire is from June to October during the dry season, when migrant game congregates around the swamps and the Tarangire River valley. Migrating elephants can then be seen in good size herds.
