Night nature walks in Kibale Forest-Kibale forest national park’s most popular activity is the Kanyanchu Primate Walk. Thirteen species of primates have been recorded in this park and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered, but the stars of this trail are the chimpanzees. The kanyantale chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Guided walks start at 8 am and 2 pm and last an average of three hours, depending on various factors.

However most people tend to forget about one of the most spectacular and unique activity of walking in the forest at night, Kibale forest national park offers night walks to give clients the opportunity to look out for Nocturnal primates and Birds.

This walk starts at 7-7:30 pm at the Kanyanchu visitor’s centers and it lasts for 2 hours, travelers must ensure they have a very good bright torch and Rain jackets before arriving at the Visitor Centre.

Some of the nocturnal wildlife found in Kibale include Demi doff Galago, Pottos and Eastern needle clawed Galago and wildlife include the Civet cat.

The best time for night/nocturnal walks in Kibale Forest is during the countries two dry season from June to September and December to February, as the trails are drier and easier to navigate.
