A Natural Wonder of the World believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is a body of water in southwestern Uganda one of the country’s top natural treasures. And, at 1,962m above sea level, the lake enjoys moderate temperatures year-round, cool in both the mornings and evenings. It’s a popular place to take a relaxing holiday.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 2: Early morning Transfer to Bwindi forest for Gorilla trekking experience and return to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 3: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and Relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali.

Detailed safari itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park.

After morning breakfast, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Museum where you will have the chance to learn more about the Rwandan genocide of 1994, there after you will be transferred from Kigali to Bwindi forest enroute to the Lodge you will explore the town of Kabale, visit local market and enjoy lunch, after you will be transferred to the Lodge for relaxation.

Day 2: Early morning Transfer to Bwindi forest for Gorilla trekking experience and return to Lake Bunyonyi.

After early morning breakfast you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park for your gorilla trekking experience upon arrival at the park you will be received by the rangers and take you through a briefing and after you will start your trek in to the rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas, after locating the mountain gorillas you will then spend one hour with the gorillas and later return to the park, the experience can take anything from 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the location of the Mountain gorillas, after you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 3: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and Relaxation.

You will spend the day at Lake Bunyonyi which offers a blend of adventure and tranquility, with activities like boat rides, canoeing, bird watching, and exploring the 29 islands, including the famous Punishment Island.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali

After morning breakfast depending on your flight schedule you will then be transferred to back to Kigali for your onward journey or you’re Lodge.

Detailed itinerary

DAY 1: FULL DAY NAIROBI CITY TOUR

After an early morning breakfast at your lodge our guide will meet you for a short briefing about the day and after you will depart in your vehicle and head to the Nairobi national museum which showcase Kenya’s rich heritage after you will drive to the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage where you will learn more about the rescued elephants and the interesting work to protect them and release them to the wild after you will head to the giraffe manor where you will enjoy feeding the giraffes and learning about the conservation then after you will head to a local restaurant to try a typical Kenyan cuisine and later end the day at the famous Karen Blixen Museum and after here your guide will transfer you back to your lodge.
