Walking safaris in Lake Mburo National Park-During the dry seasons of June to September and December to February offers some of the most classic walking safari experiences in the park usually during this time of the year wildlife gather around the waterholes, the lakeside and swamps so they are easily located and seen in large numbers. Many of them also visit the water holes near the various lodges so you see them from everywhere. When it comes to the wet seasons of November to December and March to May, larger numbers can be seen in open valleys and grazing fields as the grass blossoms.

What to expect.

Lake Mburo National Park offers guided walking safaris, allowing visitors to experience the park’s wildlife and landscapes on foot. These safaris are conducted with armed rangers for safety, and are a great way to observe smaller details often missed from vehicles.

Visitors will usually need to book the ranger the night before the walking safari, the best time to contact walks is usually in the morning and late evening when the wildlife are in open places feeding and the temperatures are moderate perfect for walking.

Some of the wildlife that you will expect to encounter on foot include the giant Giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, buffalos, eland, topi, waterbucks and abundant birdlife like the Pelicans, Black Crake, Common Squacco, Striated, Goliath, Purple, Black-headed, Grey, and Black-headed Herons, Great White and Pink-backed Cormorants, the African Fish Eagle.
