Boat cruise on Lake Mutanda Uganda-Lake Mutanda is dotted with lots of small islands which are rich in history, provide habitat for local communities and birds, the Lake is perfectly positioned at close proximity to Nkuringo, Rushaga gorilla trekking areas and Mgahinga national park for Gorillas, golden monkeys and Batwa pygmy visits.

With stunning views of Mount Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabinyo the lake is one of the most famous and scenic lakes in Uganda a long side Lake Bunyonyi.

Boat Cruise.

There are community boats dotted along the Lake side, travelers can take a boat cruise anytime depending on their time preference, the boat trip will offer opportunities to see and meet the local community, beautiful birds, local fishermen and also spectacular views of the Virunga Volcanoes.

The boat cruise takes about 2-3 hours and travelers can start from Lake Mutanda resort, Chameleon hill lodge or Kisoro.

Lake Mutanda weather is perfect from june to September and from December to February.

Boat trips can be arranged anytime but due to the fact that most rains in this area are in the afternoon we advise making the boat trips in the morning from 8:30 or Later in the evening from 4 pm.
