Africa’s highest mountain stands a proud 5,896m and is surrounded by a national park of 756 sq. km. All routes lead to the summit circuit and twin peaks Kibo and Mawenzi (5,149 m), which are connected by an 11 km saddle. The collapsed peak Shira (3,962 m) has become a crater.

Mount Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro National Park is home to the continent’s highest mountain, snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro. Around the base of its tallest peak, relatively accessible hiking trails wind through rainforest inhabited by colobus monkeys and past the volcanic caldera of Lake Chala. Approaching the summit of Uhuru Peak, the slopes steepen and are studded with glacial ice fields, though the park is only 1,688 sq. km (652 sq. mi) it encompasses one of the largest mountains in the world.

Mount Kenya.

Climbing to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking. It is a pristine wilderness with lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forest, mineral springs, and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game, and unique montane and alpine vegetation. Visitors can enjoy mountain climbing, camping, and caving with the mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop.

Mount Rwenzori.

The 120km Rwenzori chain is regarded to be the legendary snow-capped mountains of the moon, described by Ptolemy in AD 150. Reaching an elevation of 5,109m, it is also Africa’s third tallest mountain range exceeded in altitude by the only free-standing Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro. The distinctive glacial peaks are visible for miles around, but the slopes above 1,600m are the preserve of the hikers, who rate the Rwenzori to be the most challenging to climb of all the African mountains.

  • Be Physical fit, have some Skills and Age.
    Hiking mountains over 5000 meters above sea level requires a level of fitness and we strongly recommend training hard before travelling to Africa to Conquer one of the most spectacular peaks, hiking requires skills as their will be a lot of up and sown, hiking in the glacier and travelling at a mid-age is recommend

Best time for mountain climbing in East Africa.

East Africa can be accessible any time during the year but the weather patterns on the mountain are erratic and hard to predict. The best time for climbing is during the dry season from late June to October and from December to February.
