Travellers on this trip will visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and its game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya has over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen. It is also where the fastest-growing population of rhino in Africa can be found. There is a southern white rhino, about 80 endangered black rhinos and in a special sanctuary there are two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN NAIROBI AND TRANSFER TO YOUR LODGE FOR OVERNIGHT

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, you will be received and transferred to Nairobi city which is famous for native culture, art, and history, and is a fantastic experience to incorporate into your safari visit, you will be transferred to your lodge and if time allows you may Explore the popular streets in Nairobi, enjoy a short visit to the Nairobi Giraffe Center, and mingle with the Elephants at David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and later enjoy dinner at your hotel and overnight.

DAY 2: DRIVE FROM NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After morning breakfast, you will transfer to Amboseli national park which is Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. wildlife includes; the African Lion which can easily be found and occasional sighted stalking prey, Cape Buffalo, Cheetah, Gazelle, Spotted Hyena, Jackals, Wildebeest, Common Zebra, Olive Baboons and during your stay you may visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.

DAY 3-4: DRIVE FROM AMBOS AMBOSELI TO OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

For the next 2 nights you will enjoy game drives, chimpanzee trekking and Rhino trekking in Previously known as Sweetwater’s, Ol Pejeta is a privately-owned 90,000-acre wildlife conservancy. Originally a cattle ranch, in some areas you will still see wildlife and cattle grazing happily side by side. The conservancy sits on the equator, high on a plateau, between the foothills of the Aberdares range and Mount Kenya. It hosts a wide variety of animals, including the ‘big five’, plus many bird species. On a clear day, and normally in the morning, you may have panoramic views of Mt Kenya and her snow-capped peaks. The conservancy has a variety of habitats including thick scrub, marshlands, rivers, and open plains. Ol Pejeta is committed to conservation and has a number of projects to protect endangered species, including white and black rhino. They also have a Jane Goodall chimpanzee sanctuary which is home to primates who have been rescued from abusive or captive situations. There are a number of unique experiences that you can add to a safari including a night game drive and lion tracking (booked locally).

DAY 5: DRIVE FROM OL PEJETA AND TRANSFER TO LAKE NAKURU

After morning breakfast, you will depart ol Pejeta for Lake Nakuru national park where you will spend 1 night exploring the park which is a sanctuary for the Black Rhino and White Rhino, the latter introduced from South Africa.

Rothschild’s Giraffe was also introduced into the park in 1977. The rare Ethiopian Large-eared round leaf Batis resident. Other large mammals, some recently reintroduced, include African Lion, Cape Buffalo, Leopard, Black-and-white Colobus Monkey in the forest, the Common Eland, Steenbok, Impala, Chandler’s Reedbuck, Dik-dik in the bush-land along with the Rock hyrax and the Klipspringer on the cliffs and escarpment.

Afternoon game drive takes you to the lake to view Flamingos and pelicans. Also, spot White/Black Rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe, Waterbucks, and other kinds of African wildlife. The Lake Forest attracts a wide variety of birds.

DAY 6: GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO LAKE NAIVASHA

You will head out early morning to have the best chance of seeing the most wildlife, as this is when the animals are most active. All of the big five with the exception of elephants can be found within the park, as well as other classic African wildlife such as zebra, giraffe, and cheetah. Many people will visit just for the opportunity to see the white rhino in its natural habitat, an opportunity found in few other places in Kenya. And later you will transfer to Lake Naivasha for overnight.

DAY 7-9: DRIVE FROM LAKE NAIVASHA TO MASAI MARA

After morning breakfast, you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Naivasha where you will visit Crescent Island Sanctuary offers a rare chance to literally walk with the animals, The island sanctuary isn’t home to any predators, so you can safely trade the safari car for your own two feet as you wander alongside zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest! and later drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve where you will spend the next 3 nights following wildebeest, whose numbers appear to have settled over 1 million, with supporting roles from some 400,000 Thomson’s gazelle, 300,000 zebras and 12,000 elands. These are the main migrators and they cross the ranges of over a quarter of a million other resident herbivores and, of course, carnivores. The lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and lesser predators await the annual coming of the migration with eager anticipation, clients will also have the opportunity to see the Masai villages or hot air balloon safaris over the vast plains of Masai Mara.

DAY 10: DRIVE FROM MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI AND CONNECT FLIGHT TO KIGALI

Depending on your connecting flight to Kigali, you will depart Masai mara in the morning as you will drive through the Rift valley and have chance to do shopping for local crafts and later proceed to Nairobi on arrival you will be transferred to your day room or directly to the airport for your flight to Kigali, on arrival you will be received by your trip leader and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 11: KIGALI CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

After morning breakfast, you will enjoy a short city tour of Kigali where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, kimironko market and inema art center after you will have lunch and after lunch, you will start your drive to volcanoes national park .

DAY 12: FULL DAY GORILLA TREKKING EXPEREINCE

After morning breakfast, you will drive to Volcanoes national park, the park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range – home of the endangered mountain gorilla and a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp, and heath. This is one of the few areas in Africa where you can come face to face with the mountain gorillas, the trek is ranging from 2-6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, usually clients will spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas after locating them and later you will return to the lodge for relaxation or optional activities can be arranged with the guide.

DAY 13: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING AND TRANSFER TO KIGALI FOR DEPARTURE

After morning breakfast, you head in to the forest to discover the playful and inquisitive nature of the golden monkey, a beautiful little creature found only in the high-altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park. Spend the morning searching the lush vegetation at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo for one of two habituated groups of golden monkeys, one of them a troop of more than 80 members. Spend an enchanted hour watching their frolics as they leap among the slender shoots of bamboo or tumble among the dense foliage on the forest floor.

Active, sprightly little creatures, the golden monkeys are incredibly entertaining as they amuse themselves swinging through the bamboo or racing after one other in circles around and above you. Blending in perfectly with the golden bamboo, they are very pretty, with shiny reddish-gold backs.
