Travelers will visit Kibale Forest National Park which is the primate capital of Uganda with a stunning 13 species of primates most dominant being the chimpanzee, 4 species of Nocturnal primates and 8 species of monkeys.

Queen Elizabeth for its huge elephant population can be seen on the boat cruise and game drives and is also home to Kyambura Gorge a low-lying forest with chimpanzees.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where half of the world’s mountain gorillas live at present.

DAY 1: PICK UP FROM ARUSHA AND TRANSFER TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
DAY 1- DRIVE FROM ENTEBBE TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK After morning breakfast, you will start your drive to Kibale forest national park which is the home to chimpanzees and other primates, also known as the “Primate capital of the world” with 13 different primate species. This is a 6-hour drive from Kampala to Fort portal from where you will connect to Kibale forest with an enroute stopover for lunch. Some of the primate species here include; Chimpanzees, baboons, red colobus, Black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, and many more, Upon arrival, you will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: MORNING CHIMP TREK IN KIBALE AND AFTERNOON TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH FOR GAME DRIVE

After early morning breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the park/visitor information center for registration and briefing. Thereafter, the park guide will take you through this adventurous experience where you may be blessed with enormous encounters with chimpanzee and various forest primates like the red colobus monkeys, black-and white colobus monkeys, baboons, red cheeked mangabeys and other forest species. After the tracking activity, you will return to the lodge for a hot lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for game drive in the Kasenyi plains with the possibility of viewing animals such as elephants, Uganda Kob, waterbuck, lions, leopards, buffalos, and many more and later continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: CHIMP TREK IN KYAMBURA GORGE AND BOAT CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL

After morning breakfast you will embark on a chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge which is a low lying forest situated in the heart of the Rift valley in Queen Elizabeth national park, this magnificent forest sits amidst the savannah underneath the mountains of the moon commonly known as Rwenzori and this exceptional forest is crossed by River Kyambura which acts as a key asset for wildlife during the dry season, after 3-4 hours trekking in the forest you will return to the lodge for lunch and take a boat cruise on kazinga channel, this natural channel connects Lake Edward and gorge making it a key habitat for wildlife, large herds of elephants and buffalos come to drink water every day and the birdlife is exceptional, the cruise takes about 2 hours.

DAY 4: SHORT GAME DRIVE IN ISHASHA SECTOR AND TRANSFER BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will set off and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which is home to more than half the world population of mountain gorillas via Ishasha sector which is on the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park with a possibility of seeing the famous tree-climbing lions, abundant antelope, buffalo and excellent hippo pods off the shore of ishasha River, after you will continue to Bwindi enroute you will see some dramatic landscapes as you will be moving to higher altitudes of over 2000 meters above sea level, upon arrival, you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING AND TRANSFER LAKE BUNYONYI

Have an early breakfast and set out for mountain gorilla trekking in one of the four sectors (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo) of Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park by 7:30 am for briefing and eventual allocation of gorilla group to trek. Hike through the rainforest accompanied by a ranger guide and trackers, in search of the mountain gorilla family allocated for trekking. The walking can be challenging at times, but when you catch a glimpse of the humongous silverback with his family, any discomforts will quickly be forgotten. The lead guide keeps providing information about trees, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife in the forest as you trek until you reach the gorilla family allocated for tracking. The gorillas are located in different parts across the forest and therefore, the time taken to find one group varies from a few minutes to several hours depending on the location and movement of the Gorillas. Once with the gorillas, you will be allowed to observe them for an hour, after you will then drive to Lake Bunyonyi Uganda’s deepest volcanic lake with stunning 29 island perfect for relaxation.

DAY 6: TRANSFER ENTEBBE OR KIGALI

After breakfast, set out for another scenic journey through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscapes. Observe the systematic cultivation of the “Bakiga” tribe along the mountain slopes, you will stop at the Equator enroute to Kampala, here you will have opportunity to buy souvenirs or if you choose Kigali as your departure destination then you will be transferred to Kigali the main capital of Rwanda for your onward journey.
