Nkuringo gorilla trekking sector is one of Uganda’s best places for people who wish to hike for hours in search of mountain gorillas, the area has one of the best trekking for avid hikers and the area is located in the upper southern part of Bwindi’s impenetrable national park, the area offers one of the finest views in the whole of Bwindi impenetrable national park.

On a good day, you may be able to see the famous Nyiragongo Volcano in the Congo and some of the towns in the low-lying areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

How to get to the Nkuringo gorilla trekking sector

Nkuringo is Uganda‘s furthest gorilla trekking point with extremely low tourist numbers making it a special place to go for gorilla trekking in Uganda, the area can be accessed both by Air or by Road

  • By Air

There are direct morning flights from Entebbe to Kisoro airstrip, from here a 2.5-3 hours scenic drive in a 4×4 safari land cruiser will take you to the top of the hill which is a base for mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest.

  • By Road

The easiest recommended route is via Rwanda if you’re not on our regular Gorillas, chimpanzees, and wildlife safaris, from Kampala, the drive is 11-12 hours on a smooth road and it’s a 5-hour drive from Kigali via Volcanoes national park Rwanda and Cyanika border crossing.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN NAIROBI

After clearing immigration, you will have a warm welcome at Jomo Kenyatta international airport by your Trip leader, after you will be transferred through the busy capital of Nairobi to your hotel where you will check in and relax at the hotel as you get ready for the safari.

DAY 2-3: DRIVE TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After having a delicious breakfast, check-out from the hotel and start your journey to Amboseli, which is a very popular national park well-known for its huge elephant herds. You will enjoy a joyous game drive to Athi plains in the second half of the day, you will enjoy your game drive inside the park, where you will have chances of spotting elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

You will spend the next 2 days at Amboseli enjoying thrilling game drives and soaking in the spellbinding views of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, enjoy game drives for the first half of your day, and spends some leisure time by the pool in the afternoon, in the evening, witness a gorgeous sunset.

DAY 4: DRIVE FROM AMBOSELI TO LAKE NAIVASHA

After morning breakfast, you will depart Amboseli national park for Lake Naivasha where you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Naivasha where you will visit Crescent Island Sanctuary offers a rare chance to literally walk with the animals, The island sanctuary isn’t home to any predators, so you can safely trade the safari car for your own two feet as you wander alongside zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest!

DAY 4: DRIVE TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for check in and later you will head out for game drive. Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the Lake at times seeing millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. DAY 5-7: DRIVE TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After morning breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru national park via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch at the lodge. For the next 3 nights you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park. Masai Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Some of the famous ones include: lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. It is in the Mara that perhaps has the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

DAY 8-10: FLIGHT FROM MASAI MARA TO DIANI BEACH

After lunch your guide will transfer you to the airstrip in time for your scheduled flight to Diani beach, upon arrival you will be received by our guide and transfer you to the beach resort along the shores of the Indian Ocean. On arrival check-in and relax awaiting evening dinner while enjoying beach walks and relaxation by the white sandy beaches of the resort. For the next 3 nights You will have the chance to sunbathing or engaged in the numerous water sports that are available including: - Scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, big game fishing and deep-sea diving.

DAY 11: FLIGHT FROM DIANI BEACH TO NAIROBI FOR YOUR ONWARD FLIGHT

Wake up and have breakfast at the resort. Check out and our company representative will pick you up and transfer you back to the Diani Airport and fly back to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta international airport to take the flight back home bringing to an end this amazing beach and bush safari experience in Kenya, Africa.
