When is the best time to trek gorillas in Uganda

Uganda is one of six African countries that lies on the equator. climate is largely tropical with two rainy seasons per year, March to May and September to December. The northern region, which forms one-quarter of the country lies outside the tropical belt and hence experiences only one rainy season, March to October.

When to go

Uganda experiences a tropical climate throughout the year making it easier to visit all year around, although mountain gorilla trekking is regarded as a year-round activity, the best time to visit is during the country’s two dry seasons from January and February and from June to September.

Tight months

April and November receive the highest amount of rainfall, during this time of the year trails are slippery making trekking harder.
