Best time to visit Equatorial Guinea
Dry season is the best time to visit Equatorial Guinea, but it occurs at different times on the islands and continent. Bioko Island is driest November to February, when overcast skies and 25°C temps are the norm, and sea turtles’ nest on the southern beaches. The mainland is generally driest from June to August.
The wet seasons in the continental region are from February to June and from September to December. Rainfall is higher on the coast than inland. In Bata the rainiest months are September, October, and November, with rainfall averaging about 95 inches (2,400 mm) a year.
The lowest average minimum values occur in the months of December and January (21.8 and 21.7°C respectively) and the highest in March and April (23.2°C and 23.1°C respectively).
The discovery of oil and natural gas led to a remarkable economic boom that transformed the country and opened a new chapter in Equatoguinean history. By 2010, Equatorial Guinea was the third-largest oil and gas producer in Africa and had the highest per capita income on the continent.
