Visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens.
Visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens-Located on the vast shores of Lake Victoria Africa’s largest fresh water body the Entebbe botanical gardens were gazetted in 1898, these expansive gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll. The highlights are its pockets of thick rainforest, which locals claim some of the original Tarzan films were made.
Mammals.
With close proximity to Entebbe wildlife education center some of the wildlife you will see on your walk include black and white colobus, Vervet monkeys, tree squirrels and otters by the Lake side.
Birds.
Excellent birdwatching with 115 species including Great Blue Turaco, Double-toothed Barbet, Diederik Cuckoo, African Hobby, Angola Swallow, African Grey Parrot, Splendid Starling, African Pied Hornbill, Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill, Grey Crowned Crane, Swamp Flycatcher, African Jacana, Snowy-crowned Robin-chat, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Black-headed Gonolek Orange Weaver, Vieillot’s Black Weaver, Slender-billed Weaver, Weyns’s Weaver, Malachite Kingfisher, Red-chested Sunbird, Superb Sunbird, Olive-bellied Sunbird, Northern Black Flycatcher.
What to expect on this walk.
The gentle stroll in the company of a knowledgeable guide who will introduce you to the fascinating array of fauna (keep an eye peeled for the black and white colobus monkey) and flora along the way.
Best time to visit the Botanical Gardens.
We recommend visiting the botanicals gardens in the morning hours or late afternoon from Monday to Friday and strictly in the morning from Saturday to Sunday due to large number of people who make small family parties with some loud music on the weekends.
