Trip Overview.

Rhinos are one of the most endangered African wildlife alongside elephants and Pangolins, this precious animals are traded for their horns and scales which provide a chemical called keratin which is used to make Viagra medicine and others, on this adventure we are going to learn about the conservation story of Ziwa Rhino sanctuary as we trek to see the white Rhinos on Foot and we will also have a chance to take a canoe boat at the Lugogo swamp to search for birds if you’re lucky you may see the pre-historic shoebill stork.

Know before.

• Ziwa is the only place in Uganda where you can see white Rhinos.
• Trip can start in Entebbe, Kampala or Jinja.
• Pre and post accommodation is not included on this package
• We highly recommend this trip as a pre or post trip if you’re not visiting Murchison falls national park on your Uganda safari.
• Guests will spend 1 night in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
• If you’re arriving on flights before Lunch you can undertake this trip.

Detailed Itinerary.

DAY 1- PICK UP FROM HOTEL AND TRANSFER TO ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY.

You will be met by your guide in the morning at the location of your lodge or hotel, after you will depart for Ziwa Rhino sanctuary which is located 4 hours North West of the main capital Kampala along the way you will visit local Ugandan food and fruit markets on arrival at the sanctuary you will check in to your lodge and have lunch and relax before heading for your evening Rhino trekking adventure.

After short nap or viewing wildlife from your deck you will meet up with the rangers for safety briefing, after you will drive to the location of the rhinos on locating the white Rhinos you will spend 45 minutes to 1 hour with Rhinos and later return to lodge for dinner.

DAY 2-VISIT LUGOGO WETLANDS AND RETURN TO KAMPALA OR ENTEBBE.

You will enjoy early morning coffee at your lodge at 5:45 after you will depart the sanctuary at 6 am with your ranger guide, the drive takes about 45 minutes on arrival you will meet with the local shoebill tracker who will guide you through the experience including a canoe ride in the beautiful water ways, this activity will take 1-2 hours after you will return to the lodge for branch and later drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.
