How many hours is one allowed to spend with the Mountain gorillas

Mountain gorilla trekking is a very sensitive activity which requires one to follow the rules of conservation in order to have low-impact tourism and for the animals to enjoy their freedom in the wild.

Gorillas being closely related to humans just like other primates have a very sensitive lifestyle and they always want their space when carrying out day-to-day activities

Mountain gorillas are largely vegetarian they will spend the entire day feeding and resting as the dominant silverback mountain gorilla continues to dominate and control his family from any intrusion from other alpha males, they also do other stuff like mating, grooming, playing as part of social life within the family in the course of the day.

How much time with the Mountain Gorillas

How long you will spend with Mountain gorillas depends on which gorilla activity you’re taking, during a regular Mountain Gorilla trekking, visitors are strictly allowed to spend 1 hour with the gentle giants after locating them and the number of family members you see will be dependent on the habitat and for gorilla habituation experience which is offered in Uganda’s Southern Bwindi impenetrable national park visitors are allowed to spend strictly 4 hours from the time they identify the nest to when they located the actual gorilla family under habituation.

Price for regular Gorilla trek and  Gorilla habituation

Though prices fluctuate regularly currently Uganda’s regular gorilla permits go for $700 per person per gorilla permit for 1-hour experience and the gorilla habituation permits go for $1500 per person per trek for 4 hours of experience.
