Equatorial Guinea was the only Spanish colony in sub-Saharan Africa During its colonial history between 1778 and 1968, it developed a tradition of literature in Spanish unique among the countries in Africa, that persists until the present day.

A bright yellow building on the main street, this centre is a lovely colonial building with large windows. It has a central atrium that serves as a performance area and gallery.

the Spanish colonial architecture – the twin towers of the Equatoguinean Cultural Centre – former library and archive of the Instituto Cardenal Cisneros 

this is one of the last colonial structures left in the beautiful Malabo city which sits at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, a guided tour will be contacted at the cultural centre and this will give an opportunity to learn about the colonial history.
